Printing started on August 9, 1984 and was completed on December 31, 1987 in the artistic printing shops of Ediciones Dos Amigos. Raúl Russo made a portrait of Jorge Luis Borges. The following artists created the engravings that illustrated the stories:

Samuel César Palui was in charge of looking after the edition and signed the 42 copies, as follows:

  1. Two (2) nominative copies, identified as A and B, in separate cases, were printed on Japan paper.
  2. Twenty (20) nominative copies, from I to XX, in separate cases, were printed on 160-gram cream vélin d’Arches paper, of French origin.
  3. Fifteen (15) copies, from 21 to 35, in separate cases, were printed on 160-gram cream vélin d’Arches paper, of French origin.
  4. Five (5) copies, from 36 to 40, in separate cases, were printed on 160-gram cream vélin d’Arches paper, of French origin, to be delivered to María Borges neé Kodama
